Scammon's Lagoon (Laguna Ojo de Liebre) and Laguna San Ignacio were the target destinations of our pilgrimage down Hwy 1 through Baja California. We were off to see the baby Gray Whales, but ended up seeing so much more! A big thanks to Eric Zimmerman at UCSB for organizing this expedition.
This juvenile gray whale came right next to our panga, got vertical in the water and waved its tail flukes at us. Suellen couldn't resist stroking the tail.
