A heat wave gripped most of California so we drove down Hwy 1 from Carmel to San Simeon to beat the heat. Views were spectacular and the elephant seals were fun as usual. Dunno about beating the heat though. It was 100F in spots along the Big Sur coastline. The sea was oily glass and magnificent.
