Today we traveled to three different spots in Yolo County for a nice trifecta. The day started with the hawks of Woodland where Ferruginous hawks, Red-tailed hawks, Swainson's hawks and ravens were found and photographed. The second stop was to see the burrowing owls. It's always a pleasure. Most of the "regulars" were home and photographed. We rounded out the day with a trip around the horn inside the Yolo By-Pass Wildlife Refuge. We found the southeastern area had been opened recently and enjoyed visiting these areas again after months of closure. A single but cooperative White-tailed kite perched in some bushes near the road. The panoramic vistas of downtown Sacramento with the very snowy peaks of the Sierra were fantastic.
