There was abundant water in the rice fields, most of which had small rice plant sprouts poking up above the windy, choppy surface. Some fields had taller, perhaps 10 inch, sprouts. Others had smaller, 4 – 6 inch rice sprouts. Along the side of the road in a tall rice paddy, we photographed 4 ibis that were feeding in pairs. I thought they looked great against the bright green rice plants in the background. Later a few ibis in flight were also photographed.
Great white egrets were everywhere in the fields, including both the wet and dry. A few pics of them in the green rice fields were also taken.
