The journey to the Llano Seco Wildlife Unit was far better than the destination. Several ponds along the roads leading in from the south were teeming with snow geese that were very close.
The viewing platform itself is always nice, but the adjacent wetlands had not yet been fully flooded as of this trip.
In addition to the show-stopping goose masses, the wildlife property to the south, adjacent to the public area/viewing platform, had quite a few sandhill cranes.
It was a sunny day and the wetlands were spectacular.
