A late spring trip around the bypass featured many dry or muddy (not much water) zones. Wild invasive mustard was blooming everywhere, many over 6 feet tall. A few Swainson's hawks rode a thermal. A lone harrier was seen in the distance but not photographed. Reduced water may have also meant fewer blackbirds. No yellow-heads as we had last year at this time.
