Late Sept and early Oct 2018 - EDH

Some outstanding morning encounters with white-tailed kites near the EDH EID pond. A lot of feeding, social interation and mixing it up with other species was photographed. There are shots from 3 dates: Sept 28 and 29, plus Oct 13. Special thanks to my "spotter," Suellen, who calls me when she finds interesting stuff during her morning walk.
From observations made and photographs analyzed it appears that the kites use a barbed wire fence to "hold" rodents in place, as an accessory to their talons, during feeding.
